Torrione Trento

The rooms were really nice, and the host was lovely. It’s right in the city but still quiet, in a charming old tower. They also have a room for bicycles ♥️

We had a spacious, bright room overlooking the piazza and the old city walls, and the reception staff were friendly. There’s a cafe downstairs too, with good food and service. We liked our one-night stay, though finding the entrance took some effort. The Hotels.com confirmation only gave “Piazza di Fiera” with no street number. We worked out that “Torrione” means tower and located the building, then had to walk around looking for a way in. You can enter through the ground-floor cafe, though that isn’t obvious, or use the side door on the cross street. I took a photo of that door for reference.

Parking needs a bit of advance thought if you’re coming by car. Apart from that, it was a great experience in a very special place.

The top-floor breakfast, with seats in the cupola, is a lovely way to start the day. Downstairs there’s a cafe that works well for coffee or drinks any time. We’ve stayed at Il Torrione several times over the past few years and find it delightful. The rooms are clean and furnished with antiques, the people are sweet and helpful, and the location overlooks a piazza where there always seems to be some kind of festival.
