Breakfast was generous, and the staff made us feel welcome. The rooms were comfortable, too. It’s a family-run place in a lovely, quiet town where you can get away from the noise of bigger cities, while still being close to Udine and other cities. The connecting highways for travel north or south are quick and easy to reach.

The food, bar, and breakfasts were a real highlight, and the team was friendly and knew their stuff. You can book a room with breakfast or dinner included. The place is spotless and fairly priced, in a small town that’s central enough to have some buzz but still feels relaxing. Come for the history, stay for the hospitality.

The people were really nice, though the room equipment felt old. Breakfast didn’t have much choice, but that seems typical for Italy. Being right in the city center also means there’s no parking available, which makes the location less than ideal.

We usually choose places rated 4 stars or higher, but the photos of Al Bottegon won us over for a quiet one-night stop in Trisecimo on the way to Lido di Venetia. The friendly welcome gave us the Italian atmosphere we’d hoped for. Our standard street-facing room was very clean and tidy. It’s somewhat dated, but the owners do a great job looking after it. Breakfast cost €5 per person, with croissants, cold cuts, and a choice of eggs.
