Hotel Solun

The location is perfect, and the staff were lovely and quick to help. We had a spacious, comfortable room, and breakfast was great. Ours faced the street, so traffic was clearly audible even at night. The curtains also leave gaps at the sides, letting outside light in, which bothered me while sleeping. I'd suggest booking a courtyard-facing room instead.

Really nice details throughout the hotel and rooms, and the price was good. The rooms themselves were very good, with excellent service from the staff. It's perfectly placed for walking around the center. Breakfast wasn't anything special, but you can get a decent meal. I'd recommend it to couples, older people, or families.

I called hoping to get a better rate than the booking sites showed, but for the same dates I was quoted three times as much. When I tried to get an explanation afterward, nobody replied. That lack of transparency and communication felt unprofessional.

The rooms were in good shape, and the electrical equipment and plumbing worked properly. This is an old, rather aristocratic-feeling hotel in the center of Trieste, with all the sights about a 10-15-minute walk away. The room had distinctive touches like stone columns and wood details. The corridors seemed overdue for renovation, though. Some room numbers had peeling paint, and it took us a while to locate ours.
