It’s so central that you’re right in the middle of things, but at night it can feel almost as if you’re outside the city. Getting around is easy. Alessandro had everything ready for us and gave us plenty of privacy. The place was spotless, down to individually wrapped cutlery. A real gem in Trieste, highly recommended.

For two people, the attic apartment in central Piazza Venezia is packed with comforts. The fridge and kitchen were stocked, with coffee and pastries for breakfast, and there’s air conditioning with a heat pump as well as a pellet stove for colder weather. The rooms were impeccably clean, with careful attention to anti-Covid procedures, and the price felt more than fair. The apartment is across from the Salone degli Incanti and Eataly Trieste. The manager’s old-fashioned kindness was another highlight. Highly recommended.

The only real frustration was parking. Even with the signs and advice, finding a spot felt nearly impossible. By luck we got into the blue lines not far away on Saturday at 5 PM; on Sunday at 6 PM, after driving around for 30 minutes, we gave up and paid €15 a day for a space 800 meters away. That would be a real rip-off for a week. Inside, though, we rarely felt better than at home. The attic is on the fourth floor of a lovely historic building in Piazza Venezia, without an elevator. The square has plenty of bars and nightlife, and Piazza dell'Unità d'Italia is 5 minutes away, with San Giusto Castle 10 minutes away. Despite the lively setting, the apartment overlooks the inner courtyard and is extremely quiet. There’s a washing machine, ironing board, air conditioning, hydromassage shower and pellet stove, along with lots of thoughtful extras: city guides and brochures, an umbrella, a medicine chest, coffee pods, and a fridge stocked with all-organic breakfast items. The owner is very organized, with remote check-in and suggestions for places to eat and park. I’d still highly recommend this charming loft.

I felt really looked after, and had a wonderful stay thanks to the welcome, the location and the service. Somehow the small space has everything you need. I recommend it!
