Residence Liberty

The room had lots of space, was clean and colorful, and I especially liked the bed, the drape, and the view outside. The seaside was only about three minutes away, with a lovely sunset, and restaurants, bars, coffee shops, and marts close by. I stayed two nights and was quite happy with the room and its layout. Some of the furniture and kitchen appliances were old, though they gave the place an Italian home feel. The bathroom was roomy, but the shower booth was too small for it. Reception wasn’t open around the clock, but that caused no trouble.

The staff were so kind and accommodating, and we really enjoyed our stay. We only had one night and didn’t get around to using the kitchen. The location was especially convenient for a cruise, with the pier, main square, and shopping areas all within walking distance.

The decor is the one small drawback for me. The furniture has an old-fashioned look, but the place was very clean, and the English-speaking staff were excellent and friendly throughout my two-and-a-half-month stay. The location near Piazza Unita was excellent, and my room stayed warm, around 22.5°C, through the winter months from January to March. Housekeeping came once a week: they changed the linen, vacuumed and mopped the floor, but didn’t do the dishes. That was a five-out-of-five service for me. The kitchen had a good fridge, though the freezer was quite small. I only missed a kettle and a non-stick frying pan. There’s a washer and dryer in the lobby, for €2, with €1 coins accepted at minimum.

Yuri and Faghi spent ages helping get something I’d left at the hotel sent back to my home in the UK. They really went out of their way for guests, and the staff were excellent.
