The play areas around the house were a real plus for the kids. We could check on them from the balcony now and then and call them in for dinner. The hosts and other guests made for a friendly, relaxed atmosphere, and twice the hosts brought out cake. It was delicious, and such a kind gesture. We also found Trodena to be a great base for all the hikes and day trips nearby. The nature park center's tourist information office was especially helpful. We stayed in Apartment Marie for almost two weeks. Our child had a comfortable extra bed in the bedroom, and the apartment was spotless, with a very well-equipped kitchen. The new bathroom was fantastic, and we loved the big balcony and its view. The living, dining, and kitchen space was a little dark, though that didn't bother us in summer. The GuestCard helps you save at lots of places in the region, which goes some way toward offsetting the fairly high tourist tax: €2 per person per day from age 14.

It's a lovely, welcoming place in the natural park, with a warm, charming feel. The host is attentive and very kind, and I'll definitely return to see the spring colors. It's also well placed for exploring South Tyrol and areas beyond the border.
