What struck me first was how peaceful and charming the village was. I’d originally come to Troia because of its name. If you don’t speak Italian, look up the word’s slang meaning for yourself. I was surprised, too, that the only accommodation in the village turned out to be more luxurious than you might expect from a B&B. Getting around on foot was easy. The B&B is just a few dozen feet from the town entrance, and it was very quiet and comfortable. Bora serves breakfast downstairs each morning, where there’s also a shared kitchen, a lounge with books, and a TV. Breakfast is simple, though, and typical for an Italian B&B: packaged toast, Nutella, and coffee. My room was the loveliest one in the B&B, in my opinion. It had the best view, the most comfortable bed, and a gorgeous hydro massage shower. From the balcony I watched a sunset over the steep Pugliese hills, the only “mountains” in the region, with beautiful trees lined up in front. It was one of the most breathtaking views I’ve had at any hotel or B&B, and the kind of evening I could enjoy every day. The fresh air, quiet village, and comfortable beds would all bring me back to this charming, historically important place.

I really enjoyed my two nights here. The room was clean and had all the necessary amenities, and the staff were extremely kind and always ready to help with a smile. It’s close to the center but in a quiet, peaceful area. I appreciated the small breakfast served in the room. A great choice for leisure or business, and I’ll definitely be back!

The wet towels and sheets, along with the poor cleanliness, made our weekend much less enjoyable than we expected. We also ran into serious organizational problems and a lack of courtesy at the front desk. The central location and panoramic view were nice, but they couldn't make up for the disappointing stay at "Bora B&B".

The second visit was the breaking point. We'd booked a month ahead and asked for the same room, but it was occupied when we arrived. The alternative was cold and unheated, apparently left that way after another guest gave up on it. They offered a discount, but we turned it down and left. The first time, our room had been dirty from the previous guests, though it was spacious and had a tub. After we raised the issue, the lady offered us a discount and accommodated us. Terrible management, and disappointing both times.
