The balconies and their views are a real highlight, and the place is tidy, well equipped, and has a good kitchen. It's also handy for shops, the supermarket, and local landmarks. The train station is just under 2 km away on foot, though on a hot afternoon with bags you might want a taxi 🤭. There could be a few small improvements, but it's still a magnificent place to stay in Tropea.

The biggest problem for us was the lack of light and the poor condition of several fixtures. In the second week, the front building and courtyard had no lighting at all, and the unlit courtyard steps felt risky to use. A flashlight is definitely a good idea. The outside light worked only now and then because of a loose connection. Inside, the room was very dim, with light only above one side of the sofa. The stove's LED strip was broken, as was the floor light beneath the glass panel, and the colorful LED shower shown on booking.com didn't work either. There was no main switch for the room lights near the bed. The photos on booking.com should be updated, or the description changed. There wasn't much storage: the wardrobes had hangers but no shelves for clothes or shirts. Open surfaces collected falling stone dust, which kept coming back after being swept or wiped every two days. It made things dusty and scratched various belongings. Ants were everywhere, including on the bathroom shelves, towels, laundry, bedside table, and other things left out, even though we hadn't left any food around. The apartment itself has a magnificent feel, and the views from the balcony, terrace, and windows are lovely. There is seating, but no loungers. The double bed's single continuous mattress was worn and uncomfortable. There was only one bedside table and one outlet, both on the same side, so the other side had nowhere for glasses or a watch. There was no bedside light, despite one appearing in a booking.com photo.

The apartments are spacious and welcoming, set into the rock. From the property there's a wonderful view of the sea and the sanctuary.

Natural stone arches give the rooms a beautiful rounded look. The views are breathtaking, and the place is a converted former monastery.
