The Wi-Fi barely worked, not even well enough for a basic Google search, and there was no coffee maker in the room. Breakfast wasn’t included, and they didn’t even offer coffee. A croissant and coffee cost €5 at the café next door, which is run by the owner’s husband. The mini fridge held only products they had put there, at very high prices. A small bottle of tea from Eurospin cost €2.50, while at the Eurospin store 6 small bottles were 0.89 cents. Parking wasn’t included either. It cost €25 per day, paid under the table. The room felt cramped, stuffy, and smelly when I walked in. It was unbearably hot and felt closed in. The sheets scratched my skin, the towels were rough, and cleaning happened only every other day. On the other days, you had to ask the owner to clean the room. The street stayed busy and noisy, so resting was difficult. Between 2-5 pm, loud phone calls from management carried through the thin walls, along with all sorts of noise from other rooms, including very loud shouting and some decidedly embarrassing sounds. The beds were so uncomfortable that I woke with a sore back and could barely manage a trip to the beach. Daniela, the owner, came across as distant and unsympathetic. For the high prices, the service was poor and disorganized, with no customer service. A really disappointing stay. I wouldn’t recommend it, there are better places.

The owner seems to have thought of everything a guest might need. It was clean and comfortable, right in the center. I’d definitely recommend it.

Daniela made our four-night stay feel easy, taking care of all our needs with real dedication and professionalism. She even saved our vacation in Calabria. The B&B is very central, about a 2-minute walk from the center and 5 minutes from the sea. Our room and bathroom were extremely clean, and everything was tidy and in its place. There’s really nothing negative I can say. Everything was impeccable, and Daniela is a wonderful person. Highly recommended!

We were there during the middle week of August, and had a really positive stay. The location works well for both the sea and the town center, each about a 5-minute walk away. Our room was spotless and had all the comforts you’d expect from a B&B. The owner was kind and ready to help. If we return to Tropea, we’ll definitely book La Perla del Tirreno again.
