Illness meant we couldn't travel to Udine or stay at the hotel, so we asked politely for a refund on our prepaid booking. We understand the hotel's policy might not allow refunds, but it was disappointing that they simply turned us down without offering another option. We feel unexpected circumstances deserve some consideration alongside strict rules.

Dear Paola, After exploring Udine and the surrounding area, it was always a pleasure to return to our quiet, comfortable room. We really enjoyed the coffee and breakfasts in the beautiful outdoor space during our four days at AVT last week. Sorry we didn't catch you when we left. I slept really well: nights were quiet, the blackout curtains made the room pitch dark, and the AC kept it comfortable. My room was on the small side and a bit dark, though the host couldn't really change that given where it sits in the building. I also missed having a table to work at, so I ended up using the bed. I was in town for a CISM course, and the location couldn't be better, with CISM literally next door and downtown Udine close by. Al Vecchio Tram felt more like a small family than a hotel. After just a couple of days, the women at breakfast knew how I take my coffee, always freshly made, and were cheerful and up for a chat. Breakfast was unlike the usual continental spread, with lots of sweets in an authentically Italian style. Cake and biscuits aren't my usual morning choice, but the Cornettos were fantastic. There were also eggs, bread, prosciutto, cheese, and cereal, so there's something for everyone. If you're attending a CISM course, there's no need to look elsewhere. For anyone wanting to be near the city and have an Italian experience, it's a great fit. I'd stay here again if I return to Udine.

CISM is less than a minute away on foot, which makes this a great choice for a course there. The hotel is right in town, about 15 minutes walking from the train station and three minutes from a nearby supermarket. The staff were all friendly and the breakfast was delicious. Highly recommended!

The shower setup is awkward, the fixture feels too large for such a small stall, and the shower itself wasn't very good. The single room is quite small, though it has AC, a mini fridge, and a kettle. There's an elevator, and both the room and bathroom are good otherwise. A good hotel.
