Masseria Le Mandorle

We had a fantastic stay, with comfortable rooms, delicious food and a beautiful setting. The place is now under new management, and it was even better than when we stayed in 2023. Masseria le Mandorle was a real pleasure, and we'd highly recommend it. Five stars!

We lost £1,000, and a year later, after calls and emails, the refund we'd been promised still hadn't arrived. The manager had agreed to refund us when we asked to cancel because we didn't want to stay. I still can't believe they lied to our faces. This was the worst hotel experience I've ever had. Don't go there. The place looked nothing like the pictures. There were no flowers or trees like the photos suggested, and everything seemed run down. It was in the suburbs of a small town that wasn't even cute. Calling it a Masseria felt like a way to deceive tourists. Breakfast was bad. In our room, the safe wasn't built in and the AC didn't work. It was boiling at 3am, so I woke up and asked someone to do something, but nobody spoke English and nothing was done.

We left before the end of our four-night stay after several problems made the place feel more like a low 3-star hotel than the 5-star property advertised. Staff offered us another room, which we declined, then offered a refund for the unused nights on the condition that I didn't write a negative review. I appreciated the offer, but no refund ever came. 🤣 We booked at the beginning of July 2023. There was no parking, and when we arrived we couldn't find anyone. Once I did, no one really helped with anything. The building looked run down and needed a deep clean. The neighbourhood was crap, and it didn't feel like a farmhouse or farm stay. Dinner wasn't available during our visit. Breakfast had limited food and flies all over the place. I've never seen so many flies at a 5-star breakfast buffet. 🤣 The AC in our room didn't work. It was fixed briefly, but left open and full of dust, as the photos show, then stopped working again during the night. The safe wasn't built in, and light came through the window above the door because it had no curtain, waking us at dawn. The bathroom felt like an Airbnb bathroom, not 5-star quality.

The nearby seaside resorts were gorgeous, with great water and excellent facilities. Back at the hotel, we loved spending afternoons by the pool with drinks, a memory that'll stay with us. The hotel was beautiful and clean, and the staff paid attention to everything we needed. We'll be back!
