The clean, modern apartment in Torre San Giovanni still left us disappointed, especially with Booking.com. We thought we had booked a ground-floor place with a garden, but ended up upstairs. The hallway air conditioner didn’t cool the rooms, and the sunny terrace had no awning or umbrella, so lunch outside wasn’t possible. There was only one towel hanger in the bathroom, behind the door where it was awkward to use. We couldn’t make coffee because the coffee maker had no handle. The TV sat on a cabinet behind the window, and there were plenty of other little things that felt missing.

I’d be happy to come back if the air conditioning worked. We stayed during the hottest week of July 2023, and after the single unit stopped working, we spent the rest of our week without it. We told the owner, who said they were working on it, but we never saw anyone. The unit was supposed to cool the whole house, and hadn’t been enough even before it broke. The apartment itself was modern and charming, near the beach and within walking distance. Ours was on the ground floor with parking inside the gate. The rooms were spacious, the bathroom comfortable, and the terrace had an extra shower. The kitchen looked modern but had only four plates, four glasses, four cutlery sets, and two pans, with nothing else.

The sea around this part of Puglia is TOP, and the apartment is new and nicely finished. It’s near the rocky seafront, while the sandy beaches are a 10-minute drive away. The one sticking point, after three reports already, is that it still needs mosquito nets. Add those and it’d be five stars :)

Just 300 meters from the beach, and the apartment was clean and had everything we needed. Recommended!
