We chose Hotel Rio while visiting town for a wedding in Preggio, up in the hills, and were glad to be closer to the center. The room was spacious and clean, and the service was amazing. We accidentally booked an extra night, but even though we checked out around midday, they said we didn't have to pay for it. We really appreciated that. The square was within walking distance, and we'd recommend the hotel for a few days in town.

The food was freshly cooked and reasonably priced, and the rooms were comfortable and clean. The young woman at reception was brilliant: her English was very good, and she translated everything the chef was offering. I stayed two nights. The heating kept switching back on after I turned it off, though it was probably something I was doing. I'd return.

We came for dinner and had a great time: lovely food, a strong wine selection, and kind, helpful staff. Prices felt fair for the quality. The place has new management and is definitely better than before. We'll be back!

We went in for dinner on a Saturday evening, and it was very quiet, with only six other diners. The staff were really nice.

A good base for a work stay, and for exploring Val Tiberina.
