Luna del Raccolto felt like a home away from home. It may not be the most luxurious hotel we’ve stayed in or have the most amenities, but nowhere else has made us feel so welcome. We came to relax and got excellent service, too. The staff were quick to help with every request, including arranging a vegan menu for our whole stay. The dishes were fresh, traditional, and made with local recipes. Some of the best Italian food we’ve had. We loved one dish enough to ask for the recipe, and the staff even set up a private cooking workshop for us. Emanuele, our chef, Roberto the waiter, and Sofia at reception were all amazing.

The four-course dinner was honestly the best meal we’ve had in Sicily so far. This new hotel is clean, modern, and updated throughout, and the staff were so warm, friendly, and ready to help. Parking was easy in the small town. It’s a 15-minute drive to Trapani, where you can take a gondola up to Erica, the beautiful walled medieval town.

I don’t understand the 5-star reviews. Four stars at most. The room had an on-and-off sewer gas smell, which annoyed me.

The room was spotless and beautiful, and leaving almond pastries in it was a lovely touch. The owners were extremely kind. My one suggestion is to improve the in-room jacuzzi: there were small dark greenish marks in the tub’s corners. Maybe it should be emptied, disinfected, and refilled between guests. :)

The garden and architecture are lovely, and the rooms are very clean, with good air conditioning and a comfortable bed. The minibar drinks are free. You’ll need a car to explore the area, and there’s no parking. Access to the rooms is from outside. Service felt poorly coordinated and below what I’d expect from a five-star hotel. Breakfast was disappointing, and overall it didn’t feel like good value for money.
