Breakfast was a real highlight, with homemade cakes, lovely dairy products and fruit. We had such a good couple of days here, enjoying both the food and our stay. The dishes are tasty and beautifully presented, mixing traditional cooking with creative touches. There’s a great wine cellar, the service is impeccable, and they’ve done a lovely job recreating the feel of an old “baita”. This place deserves six stars.

Tucked away above Bormio, this restaurant is well worth finding. Everything we tried from the menu was delicious, and the lamb especially deserves a mention. The ingredients are fresh and local, and you can choose a bottle yourself from a great wine selection in the cellar. The room feels cozy and warm, and the staff are friendly and attentive. The owners also make their own face and body cream, and there are rooms upstairs. Highly recommended.

The drive up is something to be prepared for: the road is extremely steep and narrow. You may want to reserve ahead, too. Once there, we had an excellent dinner with very creative dishes.
