Baita Muffe'

The apartment was neat and the view was fantastic, but the photos don’t really show what the place is like. The listing photo shows the front of a house with a bench and a statue of the Virgin Mary, which is indeed Via Peale 2, while our accommodation was much farther up the hill. We had to look around and only found the right apartment by chance. The apartment exit is bumpy, with just two rows of paving stones, and the road up is narrow and steep. The place is quite high up, so there’s a bit of a climb, something the description doesn’t mention. You wouldn’t just stroll into the village from there. There was construction next door, and it was quite noisy when we arrived. The residents get up at 6:30 and make a lot of noise in the early morning, too. The host was friendly at first, but barely spoke to us for the rest of our stay. Parking seemed to be just a gravel lot. There was no garden or balcony, and we couldn’t sit privately because the residents used the chairs too. The so-called garden is a patch of pasture between old stables. A small dog runs around there, barking at the slightest thing and almost attacking you. The bathroom ceiling slopes down because of the residents’ staircase above it. The heating wasn’t working. There’s underfloor heating and a wood-burning stove, but the bathroom stayed cold. I didn’t see the apartments for multiple people anywhere. Locals live there, while the website says “unavailable”???? Nature lovers might enjoy the beautiful area, but not this accommodation. We’ll definitely never return.

We had a good stay, and the apartment was clean and welcoming. I’d give it five stars if the bathroom had a bit more attention: a hairdryer, soap, and at least two toilet rolls for three nights would be appropriate. The bathroom heater was the main drawback. We couldn’t get it to turn on, so the towels stayed damp.

The welcome breakfast was a nice touch, and the apartment is beautiful, with care put into all the details. It’s spacious, has lots of closet space, and a well-equipped kitchen. The location and practical setup are both just right. We’ll be back!

The apartment is roomy and has every comfort, and the woman who runs this family business is genuinely friendly. It’s surrounded by greenery and well located for the MTB race. Highly recommended!
