Hotel Mariuccia

Being near the lake sounds great, but there's a paddling area, so getting in for a swim isn't easy. Still, we had a nice vacation and enjoyed the trip. The hotel rooms and location were good, and we were welcomed in a friendly way. The restaurant had tasty food and good service. Prices were a little high, though the local ingredients made that understandable.

The food and the view were great, to be honest. Service, though, was very slow and forgetful. I had to ask twice for the same bottle of water, and it took a third waiter to bring me a wine glass. The main waiter seemed bothered by people coming in.

All six of us had a good time after someone recommended this place. The staff were quick and helpful, and we enjoyed the food. I only wish we'd visited outside November so we could have appreciated the view more.

We picked the restaurant for its lovely setting, but lunch was a letdown. The waiter was unfriendly and made things awkward, and the pizza was much worse than at most places nearby. My porcini calzone was raw inside; they cooked it longer when I asked, but then the filling tasted quite salty. We also got a bottle of olio picante that was long past its expiry date. Nobody in our group finished lunch, and no one checked whether things were okay. Getting the bill took ages, then we waited even longer for the card machine, despite them knowing we'd pay by card.
