Hotel Clara

The Oasis Suite was gorgeous and really spacious for our four-day stay. The spa was smaller than we expected, but still very nice. What let the place down was how unwelcome we felt. The owners, who also work there, came across as cold and not very smiley, and we didn’t feel much hospitality from them. I also didn’t like having to ask for everything and track someone down for help. I wouldn’t expect that at a four-star hotel. Breakfast was another frustration. We came around 10, even though it was listed as running until 10:30, and there was barely any food left or being replenished. The same thing happened when we came at 9. The terrace faces a busy street, so it’s too noisy to enjoy, and even opening a window wasn’t really worthwhile.

We could still get dinner even though we arrived at the restaurant just before closing. The food offered good value, though the restaurant closes at 9 pm. The hotel itself was very good, with high-level service and staff who were happy to help. Our room price included a Brixen card, which was handy for exploring the area. It might be nice to have a couple of tables for cards or other games.

The rooms and beds are really spacious and comfortable, and the staff are friendly and efficient. There’s plenty of choice at breakfast too. I recommend this hotel!
