B&B IL Giardino del Borgo

We came for a weekend night to unwind and enjoy the Tuscia Viterbese. Our apartment was spotless, comfortable, and had a lovely view of the countryside. The old castle stables have been beautifully restored, and the peaceful building sits below Vejano Castle, away from town and traffic noise. The owner was so kind and helpful, and breakfast was included with everything we could need. Viterbo, Tuscania, and the Etruscan villages are just a short walk away. Highly recommend. Breakfast featured homemade biscuits and ciambellone, and there’s an excellent restaurant nearby for dinner. Marisa and Federico gave us a warm welcome. The well-kept B&B is tastefully furnished, with a small apartment for four on the top floor of an old farmhouse surrounded by greenery, just below the cliff of Vejano Castle. It’s right across from the CAI-marked trails, a great spot for walkers and hikers. We’ll definitely be back.

The stairs are worth climbing for the even better view, though bear in mind there are two flights up to the rooms if you have trouble with stairs. The old building is charming, with enchanting surroundings and breathtaking views. Rooms are spacious, bright, and spotless, and the living area has a kitchen and sofa bed. Federico and Marisa are attentive but discreet hosts, and Marisa makes a magnificent donut. Breakfast was good, though it could use more savory options.

The restaurant is only a few steps away, but it's closed on Mondays. The village is charming, and the farmhouse is lovely, tastefully furnished, and welcoming. The garden has a playground too. The rooms have furniture you'd want in your own home and artwork by the owner's sister, a skilled wrought iron craftswoman and true artist. The excellent mattresses made for deep, restful sleep, and the freshly baked cookies were delicious.
