2960 Ca' Frari

We searched carefully across different sites and accommodation types before finding this Venetian apartment. Since then we've stayed several times and wouldn't choose anywhere else in Venice. It's convenient, comfortable, and well equipped. The owner is extremely helpful, knows the area well, and replies promptly both before booking and during the stay. He's respectful and unobtrusive, but available whenever you need something. Although there are only two of us, the apartment can accommodate a whole family or a group of friends. It's in a quiet courtyard just a few steps from the stunning Frari basilica, in a lively local area with excellent shops, a supermarket, chemist, bakery, bars, and restaurants. Most major attractions are an easy walk away, and the Sa Toma Vaporetto stop is nearby. We feel very comfortable and content at 2960 Ca' Frari. Staying here feels like living like a Venetian while enjoying what this exceptional city has to offer visitors.

Davide was a huge help, from explaining how to sort compost, garbage and recyclables to suggesting places to eat. He’s lived in Venice all his life, though it can still be hard to find a bar or restaurant that doesn’t cater to tourists in some way. The apartment’s location is its big advantage, almost equally distant from the main sights. It’s a ground-floor, one-bedroom flat with three beds and room for four, or two couples. Once you’ve had the orientation, it feels like your own place. A great fit for independent travelers who want a self-contained stay.

The apartment is pleasantly quiet, and you can walk to all the main tourist sights from this very convenient location.

The place itself is good, but the owner asked me for city tax without giving a receipt. I also hadn’t been told about it when I made the reservation.
