The name Al Codega refers to the lantern carriers who once offered light, safe passage, and security. This is a lovely hotel, with old-world charm and modern comforts, tucked into a quiet courtyard just off the main paths but near the major sights. Breakfast was a real treat, better than at the other hotels we stayed in across Italy. The pastries, sandwiches, fruit, and hot dishes were delicious and beautifully displayed. Our room was very comfortable, and the staff were friendly and accommodating. We’d definitely stay again.

Our room was beautifully furnished and air conditioned, and we enjoyed the cozy bar, delicious breakfasts, and historic piazza setting near the Rialto. This was my second stay, and I’ll be back. The team were warm, friendly, and helpful from the day we booked through to departure. They helped with restaurant suggestions and reservations, transport advice, and whatever else we needed. Thanks Miriam, Asia, and everyone on the team!

We had a delightful two-night stay. The service was courteous, and breakfast was delicious with lots of options. The location made it easy to reach P San Marco and Rialto. I’d highly recommend staying there.

It’s right in the center, just a few minutes’ walk from the square, but the courtyard setting makes it very quiet. My room was enough for me as a solo traveler. Reception staff were really friendly and helpful, and they brought a kettle when I asked. I’d certainly stay again. The shower only worked overhead, and the hand shower wouldn’t stay pressed in. The water took ages to warm up and never got very hot, though in 30-degree weather it wasn’t much of an issue.

Our room was spotless and beautifully decorated, and the welcome at reception was warm. Breakfast was a real highlight, with loads to choose from: cheeses, meats, pastries, eggs, yogurt, and plenty more. You’re also just a short walk from places like Rialto Bridge and St. Mark’s Square. A charming hotel, and an easy recommendation.
