Al Theatro Palace

The location was great, and the beds and pillows were comfortable. That was about all I liked. Staff barely acknowledged us when we came and went. The room felt bare, the towels were only fair, and there were no good toiletries, bottled water, or coffee machine. Our shower wouldn’t drain. They fixed it on the second day, though it still wasn’t great, and the water could suddenly turn cold. At first I thought another room’s shower might be causing it, but it happened at 5 a.m. too. Breakfast was a letdown. Nothing seemed fresh or homemade: it all looked packaged, the eggs seemed to have sat out for hours, and the little pizza-like items were cold and hard. We couldn’t get a second coffee, and staff mostly ignored us. The food wasn’t refreshed or replenished. At checkout I was charged more than expected and told I’d been “upgraded.” I had two reservations to cover the stay, and they said they’d upgraded my room. If that was the upgraded room, no thanks. It faced a wall with no sunlight. Our trip was great, thankfully, and we only used the room to shower and sleep, but I wouldn’t recommend this place.

It’s about a 20-minute walk to St Marco point. Inside, the hotel is very clean and looks like it’s been renovated recently. Reception staff always had a smile, and the restaurant team were very nice.

The team were friendly and very professional, and their service made the stay comfortable and enjoyable. Special thanks to Mr. Yazeed at reception for being so welcoming and for all his support. Highly recommended.

The staff were so helpful, and our room was cute and well equipped. The hotel is right in central Venice, with everything a short walk away. We had a fantastic stay and will definitely come back.
