The old narrow lanes are fascinating, and it’s easy to get turned around, so a tourist SIM for about 15 euros is useful for Google Maps. There are two Coop stores just a few minutes away for groceries, drinks, rolls, and household basics. The place is very central and clean, right by a canal where you can take a gondola ride. I’d definitely recommend it.

I’ve never encountered owners this rude and arrogant. Other reviews describe bedbugs, a dirty bathroom with visible bits on the toilet brush, paper towels in a closet, a brown mark on the bedspread, a grimy fridge, greasy film on the windows, no soap, and Wi-Fi that doesn’t work. One reviewer says pest control is needed. Those are things I read in other reviews, but these owners then go around badmouthing other properties. Stay away from these bad people.

We stayed through some very hot days, and the air conditioning was a lifesaver. From the window we could enjoy Venetian rooftops, courtyards, canals, and gondolas, which made it easy to feel as if we lived in Venice for a few days. The apartment was spacious and clean, with everything we needed, including a lovely bathroom with both a shower and tub, bright white towels, a comfortable bed, pillows, and linens. There’s a kettle, tea, and dishes in the room, plus a fridge and microwave in the shared room. The staff were very friendly, and the owner suggested places for lunch and dinner. The bus is a 30-minute walk, but manageable even with luggage and kids; the main sights are walkable too. A good delicatessen is nearby. We had a lovely time and will definitely return. Highly recommend.
