We spent three days here in November and had a good stay overall. It’s a quiet hotel, close to San Marco Square, lovely narrow streets, and the San Angelo boat stop, which made it easy to come straight from Marco polo Airport. Finding the entrance among all the doors wasn’t easy, though. There’s a lovely wooden door, then stairs up to a lobby with breakfast tables, all in a vintage style. Our room was small but practical, with wall heaters and a heated towel rail that made it feel warm in the cold weather. Reception was very kind and checked that we had everything. There was air conditioning, but we didn’t try it because the remote had no battery. The TV didn’t work, and we didn’t bother with it. The toilet needed a hard press to flush, the water was hot but not very hot, and the shower flow was mild but adequate. The handle was quite fluffy. Breakfast was good and served very well, and a great bottle of wine was included. I think the price matched the hotel, and it seems like a good option for couples on a budget.

My family and I stayed one night at this bed and breakfast in April 2026. We woke up with bites the next morning, and later that evening found two bed bugs on the bed. I contacted the manager, who said that “Venice doesn’t have bed bugs” and there was no other room to move us to. After finding live bugs at around 10 a.m., I had to book somewhere else quickly and move my family. I reported it promptly to Booking.com, where I’d made the reservation. The Antico Fiore manager marked us as a “no-show” and canceled the booking. After a lot of back and forth with Booking.com support, I sent photos and videos of the bugs and our bites and managed to get a full refund. I also left a review there, and the manager replied by calling me a liar and saying I’d never arrived. Amazing hospitality. I could say some nice things about the room and location, but they seem irrelevant alongside the bed bug problem and the refusal to address it, including accusing customers of lying. Don’t stay there.

The bed broke apart while I was asleep, and I landed hard on my back. The injury kept me from going to work. I later found it had been taped together with duct tape, so the owners or management must have known it was broken and still rented the room. I have video of the bed’s condition and earlier repairs. When I contacted management, they told me, “Those Things Happen!!!” Since there are no staff at night or for much of the day, I couldn’t get the room changed. For €180.00 a night, breakfast was a miserable affair, just one croissant per person. Ask the morning maid for another and she’ll defend that extra croissant with her life. She was rude and unresponsive, and there’s no staff around 24 hours. The attitude toward guests is horrible. Locanda Antico Fiore has more than one location, so be careful about staying at any of them, as the treatment seems universal. Probably the worst hotel to stay at. Don’t stay at Locanda Antico Fiore.

The rooms were spacious and clean, and the bed was very comfortable. The front desk is staffed for part of the day for check-in, and the staff spoke English and were very helpful. The hotel is close to the San Angelo water bus stop. I used water bus number 1 for most of my trips, including to Santa Lucia train station.

Simple rooms with a romantic feel gave the place extra charm, and breakfast had a nice range of choices. Service was excellente. The hotel is near the Academia, tucked along a quiet dead-end road, so it felt peaceful away from Venice’s crowds. The rooms are on the second floor, which means quite a few stairs in traditional Venetian style. If you want a quaint, intimate stay in Venice, this place is worth considering.
