I didn’t feel safe staying here, and the place is about a 20-minute walk from the train station, which was frustrating. The host never appeared for check-in and left us waiting. Only later did he say he’d hidden a key in the window, but he hadn’t told us beforehand. This didn’t feel like a serious business. When we made the host angry, he spent 15 minutes berating us by phone about what bad people we were and how he had other jobs besides this B&B. As he put it, “we’re lucky he even has time to clean the rooms.” Good luck to anyone staying here.

Alex helped us out at very short notice and was accommodating. The room was clean and well located, and he gave us a useful explanation of how to find our way around Venice’s maze. I’d stay there again.

The location is the one redeeming part of this place. It was nothing like a hotel or hostel, and felt like a disaster. The carpet was disgusting, and it looked as if the vacuum had never been used. Over ten days, the sheets were changed just once. The room was barely clean when I arrived and was dusty. There was a terrible smell on the ground floor because the toilets don’t let you flush toilet paper. I never saw any breakfast.

The rooms are tiny and poorly equipped, with no fridge, and the bathrooms are shared. The place is dirty too. Honestly, I think you can find a better hostel than this hotel.
