Hotel Bartolomeo

We stayed at Hotel Bartolomeo at Christmas and loved how warm and homelike the service felt. The team were outstanding. We were on the second floor, and noise wasn’t an issue at all. With the windows shut, the room was completely soundproof; open, you could hear ordinary city sounds, nothing extreme. Our room was sweet, the beds comfortable, and the bathtub was especially welcome after long days walking around. The location is hard to beat, just a minute and a half from the Rialto Bridge and Vaporetto stop. The mini-bar prices were surprisingly cheap, even compared with local restaurants. Breakfast was served in a charming, intimate room rather than a crowded buffet. The selection wasn’t huge, but everything was high quality and delicious, and the warm service made a difference. A lovely hotel, highly recommended.

The staff at Hotel Bartolomeo were so friendly and helpful, and made us feel welcome as soon as we arrived. They were also very sweet and caring toward our little dog, which we really appreciated. Our room was spotless, cozy, and romantic, a lovely place to come back to after sightseeing. Breakfast was delicious and had something for all tastes, a great start to each morning. We had a wonderful stay and hope to return soon. If we come back to Venice, we’ll definitely choose this hotel again. Highly recommend!

Breakfast is modest in size, but there was more than enough to start the day, and the reception staff were very friendly. The rooms were clean and cozy, with comfortable beds. We liked being so close to the Rialto Bridge and all the good restaurants nearby, and it was easy to get here from the airport. The Alilaguna Orange Line boat takes about an hour, then it’s under a five-minute walk from the stop to the hotel near Ponte Rialto. One tip: check the hotel’s own website before you book. We booked on Booking.com without breakfast, but booking direct would have included it for the same price.

Martina and Carolina were especially helpful, suggesting places to wander and explaining connections. They also arranged a private water taxi to the cruise terminal, with pickup just steps from the hotel. The rooms are a bit small, as is typical in Europe, but comfortable and fitted with modern furnishings and conveniences. Hotel Bartolomeo is near the heart of the Rialto district and the Rialto Bridge, with shopping, dining, and entertainment close by. San Marco Square and the Doge Palace are within walking distance. I’d highly recommend it.
