Ca' Valeri

The service was polite, and the location puts you right in the heart of venice. My room, though, was small and old, with a bit of a musty smell. The first day there was an issue with the boiler, so I had to shower in cold water, but it was fixed by the following day. For what it offers, I thought it was too expensive.

The bed was comfortable, the room was clean, and the service came with good recommendations. We enjoyed staying here, especially with its spot close to the center, about a 12-minute walk from San Marco piazza.

I really liked how much the place trusts its guests. You get keys for both the hotel entrance and your room, and although there's usually no one at the front desk, someone is always available. I think there are about six rooms. I've stayed on both the lowest and highest floors, so I got to compare: the lower one was cooler, while the top floor was much warmer. The top room does come with the property's only balcony. Shops, restaurants, nightlife, and the sea are all nearby, but nights were still quiet. The beds and pillows are a bit stiff, but it didn't bother me much.

After long, rainy days of walking, the room at Cá Valeri was warm and comfortable. It's an easy, quick walk from San Marco, just past the Bridge of Sighs. Ilaria made everything simple: she texted the day before to ask where and when we'd arrive, then sent detailed directions and water bus departure times. Check-in was fast, and she shared local tips. She also arranged a free private boat ride and a tour of a glass blowing factory in Murano. We had a great stay and no complaints.
