It's close enough to Venice for a 30-40 minute boat bus ride, but the place itself isn't in a tourist area. That meant we could enjoy seeing how local people live. There are some great little shops and restaurants nearby, and it's a good spot for a quiet stay.

The accommodation was clean and well equipped, right in the heart of Burano. One thing to know if you stay overnight: once the last day tourists leave on the vaporetto around 9 pm, the sidewalks practically roll up. But early the next morning, a great cappuccino and a pistachio croissant that's simply the best you've ever tasted in one of the charming little alleyways more than made up for it. Burano is expensive!

We could eat outside, and the air conditioning was a nice touch. The apartment was great and the host was very easy to communicate with. There's a spiral staircase up to the bedroom, though you can sleep downstairs on the sofa bed. The Dolce Gusto machine came with two capsules. Thanks, Eliza, we'll definitely be back!
