We’re not staying another night. Everything squeaks, the doors, bed, and even the floorboards. The wardrobe wasn’t fixed to the wall and was leaning, and it fell on me. Now my ankle hurts and I’m limping. There were ants all over our bags when we woke up, even though we had no food in them or anything that should attract ants. They seemed to be coming through cracks in the floorboards. There’s no air conditioning, just a cheap, rubbish fan, and it was 31 degrees that night. The shared bathroom was dirty. The shower was a low hose that you had to hold to wash yourself, so we didn’t even get a proper shower. I wouldn’t wish this place on my worst enemy. If I could rate it minus three (-3), I would.

The hosts were very welcoming, and breakfast each morning was really good, with plenty to choose from. It’s a grand old building with generously sized rooms. I’ll definitely return.

If you’ve come across this review, read it. This place is terrible. I could list the reasons, but plenty of other reviews already have. Just don’t stay here. If you do, that’s at your own risk.

The old rooms are lovely and spacious, with unusual furniture you rarely see. It feels like another way to travel through time.
