Ca' Isabella

Rossella got in touch before we arrived with directions from both the airport and the train, which took away a lot of the travel stress. My wife and I had a great stay at Cà Isabella. It felt a bit odd to ring the bell, have someone unlock the door remotely, and find no lobby. A young man directed us upstairs, where Enzo welcomed us. He was very nice, spoke enough English to get by, gave us a map, explained breakfast and quiet hours, and answered our questions about getting around and the ACTV stops. We were pleasantly surprised by the room: a large queen-size bed, two windows and a private bathroom. The water is drinkable and tastes good. Breakfast was wonderful and much more than we expected from the description of a typical Italian breakfast as coffee and a small pastry. Rossella or Enzo made sandwiches, homemade cake, hard-boiled eggs, juice, coffee, croissants, toast, jam, Nutella and more. Great people, great food and a quiet place. We really enjoyed our visit and will be back. Thank you, Rossella and Enzo!

The area around the place is really nice, on Giudecca Island. You can take a public water bus from Santa Lucia station, though a one-way ticket costs 7.5 euros. Depending on how long you stay and what you need, a 24-hour pass or longer may be better. The room has all the amenities, but the Wi-Fi connection is poor, particularly in this room. I only checked in today, so it’ll take some time before I can give a complete review. :-P

Warm, lovely hosts who were happy to accommodate gluten-free needs and share local tips. I’d definitely stay again.

A great location and a very comfortable stay. The landlady doesn’t speak English, but she’s good at getting her meaning across with gestures.
