Ca' Tessera Venice Airport

The rooms were warm and well heated, and although they aren't very modern, the place has a cozy feel and a pleasant atmosphere. It's about 20 minutes from the airport, even on foot. We only stayed one night and spent a few hours there, so I can't really judge everything or try the hotel facilities. It was nice to see the indoor pool open in winter, though. Seems like a comfortable option for a short stop, especially if you want somewhere convenient and warm.

The staff were really friendly and attentive, and I had a great stay. I needed to work from my room and was surprised by the ultra-fast WiFi, with downloads close to 170 Mbps, much better than at most hotels I've stayed in. I didn't expect that from a farm-style airport hotel. It's very close to the airport, though the 15 euro shuttle felt pricey for such a short drive. One drawback, the walls between rooms are thin enough that I could hear my neighbor talking.

The receptionist and the rest of the staff were really kind, and that helped make our stay nice. The rooms were cozy, the wellness area was a good extra, and the area itself was beautiful, close enough to Venice for sightseeing but far enough away to rest. A few smaller things did take away from the experience. The hotel suggested a restaurant and arranged a shuttle there. It seemed nice at first, but the menu wasn't special, the food was mediocre, especially the wine recommendation, and the waiters were plainly rude. They looked bored and took plates while we were still eating. The hotel should reconsider working with them. Breakfast was okay, but the coffee quality disappointed us, and after days of eating cheese and meat everywhere, it would've been nice to have a vegan spread. Some little conveniences were missing too: hooks in the bathroom or pool area for towels and clothes, bathrobes or slippers to rent for the wellness area, and a water bottle or information about whether the tap water in the room was drinkable. There also seemed to be a lot of waste. Pool area windows were often left open, so more heat was needed. Room lights stayed on after cleaning until we came back late. Shower water took ages to heat up, and it would be helpful to have a sign and bucket to collect it for reuse, for example in the garden. Towels and sheets were changed without asking. A simple note saying towels on the floor get changed while hung-up ones can be reused would be nice.

Andy made the hotel experience for us. He greeted us at check-in, arranged everything we needed, set up our 15 Euro shuttle for two the night before, and checked in again in the morning to confirm it was on time. The hotel was quaint and rustic, with a wood-burning fireplace in the lobby and a small bar that was better than nothing. The bed creaked and we could hear the neighbors clearly, but it was budget-friendly and perfectly placed for an overnight before an early flight. We got what we needed conveniently, and I felt safe.
