Camping Venezia

For anyone travelling in a van and visiting Venice, this is a perfect base. The campground is large and has bungalows too. We arrived in November without booking and were made very welcome. The staff clearly explained the services and prices, gave us a site map and bus information, and showed us to the right parking bay. We stayed four nights with an electric hookup for €32 per night, which felt like excellent value for what was included. The bus stop is right by the campground, with regular rides into Venice. There are several washing machines and dryers, each costing €6 per wash or dry. The dishwashing area was clean, and the bathrooms were excellent: warm, clean, plentiful, and with the best showers we’ve had since we started travelling back in January. We ate at the restaurant and thought it was great value. I’d especially recommend the homemade lasagna, the pasta just melts in your mouth. The facilities here are excellent.

The accommodation felt clean and cozy, and seemed newly built. With the breakfast option, they provide a croissant and a cup of coffee in the morning. If you choose the kitchen option, basic dishes and cooking utensils are included. Transport is very convenient. Buses 15 and 19 run between Venice and the main island every 20 minutes, about four times an hour. A one-way ticket is €1.50 and can be bought at the camping office. Buses 5 and 15 also go to the airport for €10 one way. Getting to Mestia train station is convenient too.

The only downside for me was the reception staff, who were rude. Everything else was amazing. The pool was warm and cozy, with a jacuzzi, and the showers and restrooms were really nice and clean. This is the best campsite I’ve ever visited. The restaurant is well worth trying if you stay here, everything is delicious and cheap. The bus stop is next to the campsite, with an easy connection to Venice.

It was busy while we were there, but still felt quiet. The pitches were clean and tidy, and the facilities were very clean and modern. Staff were friendly and happy to help. There’s a bus stop to Venice a very short walk from the campsite, and you can conveniently buy tickets at the office. Great quality campsite.
