The host was quick to respond, and the place is nice for an affordable price. But there’s no breakfast despite it being called a bed and breakfast, and the bathroom is outside the room. We had luggage, and carrying it up more than three steep flights of stairs was a hassle.

We could explore Venice from this peaceful, very central B&B, then retreat somewhere quiet and private. The building still has its original character, and breakfast was brought to our room at no extra cost, presented with real care and warmth. A lovely choice for a weekend away.

We loved staying here. The room was clean, comfortable, and neat, and right in the heart of Venice. Check-in was self-service and went smoothly, and Mr Nicola was amazing whenever we needed information or help. The thing that really showed his kindness: 45 minutes into our drive toward Lago Di Garda, he messaged to say I’d left my wallet behind. We turned back, and everything was untouched. I wouldn't stay here again. The room is on a very busy street near bars, with a young, rowdy crowd shouting and singing until early morning. The window is thin and barely shuts. The radiator made the room unbearably hot for our first couple of nights, so we slept with the window open. I called the emergency number right away, but got no answer until I followed up the next day. There was no apology or empathy, just instructions I wish we'd been given when we arrived. This also wasn't the B&B experience advertised. There was no breakfast, only a broken coffee machine in the hallway that stopped after one bad cup. We stayed seven nights and saw the host only twice. At arrival we exchanged a couple of sentences, got the keys and an emergency number, and that was it. If you want a welcoming place with actual host interaction, look elsewhere. Checkout was worse. At 10:30 on departure day, the cleaning lady knocked to tell us checkout was at 10. We hadn't been told. When we argued, the host came out of his office, interaction number two, and yelled that it was in a message. I checked and there was no message. He went straight back inside. We packed quickly, handed the keys to the visibly mortified cleaner, and left with our luggage. We'd rather pay for storage than spend another minute there. For a decent night's sleep, bring earplugs, have a strong back for the uncomfortable bed, and be prepared to sweat.
