Casa Burano was a lovely way to see Venice while staying away from the crowds in the mornings and evenings, and it let us feel a little like locals. Our room was beautiful, spacious, and seemed recently renovated. The staff were great and worked with us when our flight into Venice was delayed. Breakfast was delicious at their sister property, Venissa, an easy, pretty walk away. We didn't get to try dinner at the restaurant, though it looked amazing. Keep in mind that from Marco Polo airport you need to ferry into Venice and then take another ferry to Burano, or pay around 200 euro for a water taxi. Given the hotel's very reasonable cost, taking the water taxi they arranged for us seemed justifiable.

Casa Burano was one of my favorite places we stayed in Europe, after backpacking through 12 cities across the continent. Our top-floor room was beautiful and comfortable, and the views were so pretty. The hotel is a bright green building facing pink and green houses, with one of the island's better restaurants just across from it. We arrived before check-in and hadn't realized we needed to call a day ahead. We weren't sure where to go, but a gentleman working at the restaurant opposite helped us by calling the concierge. She came over and let us in early, which was incredibly kind. Breakfast was really good, and I loved how they served it. Coffee and espresso were unlimited. It's a bit out of town, and most places close around 8 pm, except for that really good restaurant in front of the hotel. Such a pretty little town and hotel. I loved it here.

Burano itself felt magical, a welcome break from the crowds and chaos of Venice, and the location worked for us. But our room on the first floor of Casa Burano felt like a bare dormitory, with no view or service. Breakfast meant walking 10 minutes to Mazzorbo, so we skipped it when it rained. Some shelter that morning would have made a big difference. At check-in, the woman practically ran across the island without looking back while we hurried after her with all our luggage. She was also annoyed when we didn’t pay the tax in cash. We loved dinner at Venissa, but the stay was very disappointing. Stay at the resort if you can.

Dinner at the Michelin-starred restaurant was a real highlight, with lots of vegetables from their own garden and fish from the lagoon. We also enjoyed breakfast after a stroll through the vineyard. We spent four days here as a family, and the hospitality was great. It was lovely being close to Venice but away from the tourist crowds. We’ll be back!

Loved it. The beds were super comfortable, the bathrooms modern, and the amenities were great. The location was spectacular, close to everything, with a great breakfast and an amazing restaurant, Venissa. Stay HERE!
