Angeles Inn

Fabio was such a friendly, chatty host, and we had a great time talking with him. He shared plenty of useful tips for exploring the city. Valentina was also very helpful over WhatsApp before we arrived, answering our questions quickly and giving us good advice, even though we didn't meet in person. We stayed just one night and had a lovely experience. The room was spacious, beautifully furnished with antique pieces, and spotless. There were more towels than we needed, which felt like a thoughtful touch. Breakfast was generous and delicious, a proper Italian breakfast. The inn is tucked down a quiet, charming alley, about a 10-12 minute walk from the train station and roughly 20-22 minutes from Ponte di Rialto. We'd happily return to Angeles Inn on another Venice trip and recommend it to visitors.

The decor was nice, the location was great, and check-in was easy. But the walls are so thin that we could hear the neighbors snoring in the next unit. We couldn't get the air or fan unit to work with the remote, and the room got hot and stuffy. One day the cleaning staff left the windows open. On our last night, mosquitoes were everywhere, biting and buzzing, and we barely slept. The hotel had left Raid spray, which isn't repellent, and an electric racket. They should have kept the windows closed as we had left them. We ended up checking out a few hours early just to get away from the mosquitoes.

Valentina and Fabio were great hosts. They suggested things to do and helped us book excursions, and we enjoyed breakfast out on the terrace each morning. Their part of Venice was quieter and less crowded, but there were still plenty of shops and restaurants nearby.

The hotel was in a quieter part of town, and I found it easier than expected. You could hear some footsteps through the walls, but the other guests seemed aware of the noise, so nobody was too loud and I slept pretty easily. The staff were very nice too.
