I loved the room, the setting, and the location during my four nights here. It's clean and quiet, and deserves more credit than my selfish wish to keep it secret would allow. Treat it like someone's home and the essentials are there. If you want new furniture, loads of amenities, pillow-top mattresses, or x-star hotel service, this probably isn't the place for you. Don't expect things like that here.

The helpful, friendly staff made a good impression. I was unsure about leaving the room key at reception, but it worked out fine. Each time we passed through, someone in the office across from the desk made eye contact and smiled. The women who kept breakfast stocked were sweet and kind, always greeting us with a smile. The breakfast was free, which plenty of places don't offer, and I especially liked the bread, meat and cheese, and cappuccino from the selection machine. The bathroom layout could be a surprise if you're heavy or plus size like me. The toilet is very close to the sink, and you have to sidestep to reach the shower. It was more funny than annoying, and not a problem for me, but worth knowing. At home I'd probably brush my teeth sitting on the toilet every time. The beds weren't luxurious, yet I slept better over our two nights than I do at home. We picked two twins since I wasn't sure a double would be big enough with all my tossing and turning. I liked having switches by the beds for both the overhead and wall lights, and the outlet was halfway up the wall instead of near the floor. We brought a converter and several USB and USB-C ports. Restaurants are plentiful nearby, and the bus stop is a ten-minute walk, with the train station a few minutes farther. For the price, it's a very affordable stay with what you need, and the money we saved went to gelato, gondola rides, entry fees, and other things. Five stars for the value.

For someone who only needs a place to wash and sleep, this could work well. It's quiet but conveniently placed, and the premises are well kept. The staff were helpful and friendly. The hotel is connected to a convent, and the rooms feel like austere, old-fashioned monastic cells, though there is WiFi. Guests are expected to behave respectfully and avoid anything considered lewd. There is a nightly curfew, bathrooms are dormitory style, and the included breakfast is cold. Towels are changed every three days. If you arrive early, luggage can be stored in an unattended, unsecured room. When leaving the building, you also have to leave your physical room key on a pegboard that is often unattended. I booked through a third-party platform, and didn't feel the hotel was worth what I paid, though I appreciated the experience. Try booking directly if possible. My dates showed as unavailable there, which would have meant paying a significant extra amount through the third party if I still wanted to stay.
