There was no on-site check-in or phone, and the place was dark, musty, and stinky. The second-floor room was filthy and gloomy, with no lift or wifi, and felt substandard and unsafe. I booked through hotels.com, where it was listed as a hotel, but it's a tourist trap and not a hotel at all. The ads don't describe it accurately. This was the worst place I've ever stayed. Do NOT stay here.

Just five minutes from Piazza San Marco, the room was pleasant but on the small side. Since this is an annex, there was barely any service, although the reception staff at the hotel were kind and courteous. I marked it down to four stars because construction in the apartment and building caused noise in the mornings and afternoons.

The reception is in another building, just 50 meters away, and the staff there were friendly and helpful. Inside, I found a clean place with the things you need, including towels, toiletries, slippers, a hairdryer, an iron, and air conditioning. The building is old, but Venice is an old city. I was nervous after seeing the reviews, but I needn't have worried. One thing, if stairs up to the second floor are a problem for you 😁, that's on you.

We found it among the cheapest options and thought it was excellent value. The place is super central, with comfortable beds. When I stayed in mid-November, the rooms felt a little chilly but were still comfortable. If you come without high expectations, it can be a great place to stay in Venice.
