The location is excellent, just a few minutes from San Marco, and the place was clean with cute interiors. But don’t expect hotel-style hospitality. The staff didn’t treat us like hotel guests, and most of the female staff had a terrible attitude. One male staff member was quite okay. If this were a B&B, that would be fine, but for a hotel the service felt strange. The coffee was another shock. It was American-style coffee with hot milk, which was terrible for coffee in Italy. Even at a non-luxury hotel, I’d expect good cappuccino, since it’s served everywhere. There’s no lift, so keep that in mind. I managed to carry my big bag upstairs because I’m strong enough, but I saw another guest who couldn’t manage it. I can’t recommend staying here with large luggage. If location and cost matter most and you have a small backpack, it’s a great place. If you want to feel like you’re staying in a hotel, it isn’t.

The room was clean, though it felt old, the bathroom was tight, and the room creaked during the night. Breakfast was simple but enough to get the day started. Staff were friendly and offered tips on where to eat and how to get around Venice. They seemed to care, and reminded us to watch our valuables and avoid pickpockets. The main advantage is the location, close to the local sights. I probably wouldn’t choose it for a romantic stay, but for a couple or family who want convenience and would rather put their time and money into the location than the room, it’s worth booking.

Right in the heart of San Marco, this small, cosy hotel is close to the main sights but tucked away enough to feel peaceful. The rooms are tiny, but adorable, with an old-world style that makes the place feel truly Venetian. It’s authentic and full of charm. A wonderful stay!

The canal views from the balcony are special, and the rooms are quiet and comfortable. I loved staying here. Everyone on staff was friendly and helpful, and breakfast was great in a beautiful setting. It’s excellent value for money, and I highly recommend it.

Across our four trips to Venice, Hotel Centauro has been the best hotel for us. We’re glad we discovered it recently. The staff are very friendly, the rooms are clean, and breakfast is fresh and delicious. Nothing to complain about. Five out of five, and we’ll be back!
