Hotel Concordia

The hotel was nice, with excellent staff, an outstanding breakfast, and a great location. The carpet looks a little dated, though. There’s plenty of storage in the room, while the bathroom is small and cramped but usable. They still use old-fashioned room keys, which you’re meant to leave at the front desk when you go out. It’s a bit odd, but it works. Digital locks would be better, and having two keys would let us come and go separately.

The room was a decent size and looked out onto the back street. Breakfast had a good variety and excellent service. The staff were very good, and I booked directly through the hotel website. The hotel’s main advantage is its central location, right beside San Marco basilica, though the entrance is at the back. There’s no elevator from the ground level to level 0, where reception is, so late arrivals may not find anyone to help with luggage.

We had a spacious, comfortable superior room on the second floor, with a peaceful view over the basilica. The breakfast was fantastic, with champagne available and coffee made to order. I also got to see the suite, which was exceptional. The hotel feels very Italian, with old-fashioned values and wonderful service. The staff couldn’t do enough to help. It’s right in the center, with luxury and Italian charm.

We booked one of the terrace-view rooms, and it was lovely. There was a second floor leading up to the outdoor terrace. We didn’t spend much time there, but it was nice to have a separate spot to retreat to. The hotel’s location made it easy to get around, and the staff suggested Da Bubi just around the corner for a lovely first lunch. The Concordia staff helped make our day in Venice easy and beautiful. Soon after we booked, they sent a very professional email offering to help plan the trip, which was a pleasant surprise. Service stayed great throughout, including porter help with our luggage. We also arranged an airport transfer. It was expensive, but well worth it when we arrived. Thanks to everyone at the hotel!
