Da Marinella

The host explained everything around the house very thoroughly, and there’s a handy system for leaving luggage so we could explore until our train. Check-out was at 10, but storing our bags at the accommodation made that fine. There weren’t many other occupants during our stay, so sharing the bathroom next to our room wasn’t a problem. Toiletries, towels and a hairdryer were provided, and the Wi-Fi was very fast, perhaps because the place wasn’t busy. I found it easily since I already understood it was an apartment in Airbnb style. My only issue was noise from the restaurant close to our room.

The rooms were decent, and there’s a large shared kitchen with two bathrooms and two toilets. The owner came out to meet us, which was a really nice touch. Finding Da Marinella took some effort. Google Maps gets you to the main square at Santa Marina; from there, head toward the red map marker, pass the coffee shop, continue toward the bar, then turn right. It’s on the left, right in the middle of the street. The windows let in a lot of noise. You can hear the bar downstairs until 11 p.m., then footsteps outside in the morning. Bring earplugs if you want peace and quiet.

We didn’t expect much for the price, but the room turned out to be really nice and comfortable. It’s in a great spot and quiet, and although the bathrooms are shared, we hardly had to share them with anyone. Andreas was polite and helpful. Don’t worry about using Google Maps to find the place, just make sure you select the right location.

The room was cosy and comfortable, and the bathroom was very clean. Da Marinella is right in central Venice, about a two-minute walk from Rialto bridge and five minutes from San Marco. It was easy to find, and check-in was straightforward. I’d definitely recommend it.
