The canal view was lovely, and the rooms were tidy, clean, beautifully decorated, and really comfortable. Staff were helpful too. This is a great area if you’re reasonably fit, since you can walk everywhere. There are lots of good restaurants nearby: Barbacani, directly opposite, is one I’d recommend for dinner, and cip ciap across the way has great pizza slices and has been going since 1987. There’s plenty to see and do around the hotel, and St Marks square is a 5-minute walk away. We had a fantastic experience. I’d highly recommend staying here, and suggest asking for a canal view room.

The location was the one good thing about my 3-night stay at Dimore Dogale (10/10-10/13). It’s convenient, and paying extra for a canal view adds a nice touch. Otherwise, this was honestly one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had. The staff were cold from the start. The woman at reception barely greeted us and didn’t help with our luggage, despite three steep flights of stairs and no elevator. Our room was dirty, extremely hot, and had no air conditioning. The decor was outdated and depressing. There was hair in both the sink and shower, and the shower head wasn’t attached to the wall, so we had to use the handheld one the whole time. Nobody cleaned the room during our stay. We had to go downstairs ourselves to ask for clean towels and toilet paper, which is unacceptable for a hotel. At night it was nearly impossible to sleep because of the heat. Opening the windows let mosquitoes flood in, and we woke up covered in bites every morning. It was miserable. The place may look charming online, but I’d never stay here again or recommend it to anyone.

The canal view from the room was lovely, and the location made it easy to get everywhere on foot. The room was nice, with a comfortable bed, extra pillows, and a clean bathroom. It’s a very small property, but the staff were friendly and check-in was easy. We stayed one night in October and didn’t need air conditioning.

We could walk to most of Venice’s main sights in 20 minutes or less, and the location was fantastic. The rooms have a quaint style and were clean and comfortable. Canal noise came and went, but never lasted long. Our only real complaint was the air conditioning: it was there, but only ran for about 30 minutes. Recommended.

The location was decent, but that was the only positive for me. The room felt outdated, dirty, and musty, and there was no air conditioning. I was told to leave the windows open, so I spent three nights getting eaten alive by mosquitoes and sweating. Housekeeping never cleaned the room during our stay. I’d never recommend this place.
