The rooms are small, but cute and clean, with a safe and mini fridge. WiFi worked perfectly, and the staff at reception and in the breakfast area were very nice. The location is hard to beat, about three minutes from St. Mark’s Square, the Basilica, and the Doge’s Palace. Restaurants, bars, high-end stores, souvenir shops, a supermarket, and vaporetto stops are nearby, while the street itself is quiet. Breakfast was the same each day and pretty bland: pastries, salami, cheese, a few pieces of fruit, some already half rotten, and hard boiled or scrambled eggs. Coffee and tea were included. One morning, the cleaning lady loudly said unkind things about another guest in front of everyone. I speak Italian, so I understood it all. That same person knocked on our door another morning to ask if we wanted cleaning. I said we’d be out in 10 minutes, and she made a face and left. Our room wasn’t cleaned that day. Even so, we had a pleasant stay.

It was easy to find our way around with Google Maps, and there were lots of shops, places to eat, gondolas, and bridges for photos close by. The hotel is in a quiet spot, around a 4-minute walk from St Marks Square, 11 minutes from Rialto bridge and market, and 18 minutes from academia bridge. The beds were comfortable. The toilet and shower were a bit small, though still comfortable. There’s no lift, but all the rooms are on the first floor, manageable with a suitcase. Staff were very friendly and helpful. I loved being able to get free coffee, tea, and biscuits in the breakfast area all day.

The front desk lady was lovely, friendly, and informative. Everything is an easy walk from this place, though be aware there’s a flight of stairs if accessibility is an issue. I’d definitely stay here again.

Deborah welcomed us when we arrived and gave us wonderful suggestions for food and things to do. We tried them, and they were all great. The hotel is well placed for getting around quickly on foot or by water bus. It felt safe down the alley, with keypad entry to the building and separate keyed room doors. Our room was clean and well kept, with daily housekeeping. There was a safe for valuables, the bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was spacious apart from the shower, which was small but worked well and had great pressure. Despite being close to the main sights and shops, it was quiet at night. Breakfast was free each morning, with a full coffee bar and a generous spread. There wasn’t a view from our window, but that’s typical in Venice.
