The location and the views from the windows were a plus. Some people might mind the restaurant noise, but I liked looking out onto its patio. The shared kitchen and lounge were nice, though there was no coffee, which I find strange in Italy. The room was very bare, short on furniture and hangers, and the bathroom was below standard. We felt uncomfortable and it wasn’t worth the money. I’d stay one night at most, as longer would leave you without basic amenities.

Avoid this place. My room didn’t look like the pictures: the toilet was in one corner, the shower in another behind plastic, and the sink was in the middle of the room. The place stank, and the air conditioning was disconnected. I called them 100 times and nobody picked up. I reported all the problems and they didn’t care. Don’t book here for your own safety.

The place feels tired, though everything matched the description. We had good housekeeping, but they said nothing else could go down the toilet, so they had to empty the bathroom bin daily. The plug points were loose but still worked. Our room and the common-room balcony both overlooked the canal, which was special. We came by train and left by bus, and both stations are about a 10-minute walk away. Entry to the building and room is by keypad.

Terrible stay, far too expensive for no service. There was no hot water, and the bathroom was out in the corridor, with a door that wouldn’t lock. Another guest tried to come in while I was using it. Never again!
