Guest House Santa Sofia

The location was superb, and the staff were friendly and helpful. We had a wonderful stay, with a cosy, beautifully furnished room and really good value. I hope to stay here again.

Laura was an amazing host, and we really enjoyed our time at Alloggi Santa Sofia. Breakfast was great, and the place is conveniently close to everything, making it easy to get around Venice.

The room was spacious for two, the bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was great, with strong shower pressure. The air conditioning worked somewhat, and it was a relief to step into the cool air after climbing the quite steep stairs to reception. Housekeeping came every day with fresh towels. They also provided slippers, which we hadn't packed flip-flops for, and we ended up using them through the rest of our little Eurotrip. We stayed two nights and had a pleasant time. The staff member who showed us to the room was very kind, helped carry my heavy backpack, and even lent us cutlery for the pizza and dessert we brought back. We can't remember her name. Check-in was a bit confusing because the street is narrow and there's another hotel with a similar name, “Alloggi Santa…”. The right place is Alloggi Santa Sofia, just beside the first hotel, about a 1-1.5 minute walk away. The location is good, around 10-15 minutes on foot from the train station and five minutes from the vaporetto stop. Breakfast is available, though we didn't try it. I personally wouldn't return to Venice, but if I did, I'd definitely stay at this hotel again.

It was so quiet at night, and someone was still at the check-in counter after 10 pm when we arrived. The breakfast and coffee were amazing, served by the nicest woman. If available, you can ask for the garden room downstairs to avoid the stairs. The water taxi stop is a quick five-minute walk away.
