I was glad I stayed on this island instead of in Venice proper. It feels affluent, with lovely villas, and the hotel is in a peaceful area about five minutes from the pier. There aren’t crowds of tourists, and boats to Venice run regularly, even at night. It’s about five minutes to the first stop and around fifteen to San Marco Square. I got off at the first stop and walked to the square in 25 minutes, enjoying the views along the way. The hotel felt like a good, classic Italian place. The staff were cultured and pleasant, and my room was clean and quiet with no unpleasant smell. I’d read earlier reviews, but had no water problems in my room. They also let me leave my things after checkout and collect them in the evening. I enjoyed my stay and thank the staff.

It’s easy to find a market, ATM, laundry or restaurant nearby. The hotel is antique, and even the room and safe keys are unusual. You may have to search around for the safe, since it could be in the wall or behind a picture.

We had a lovely stay at Hotel Biasutti. Our room was spacious, beautiful and well supplied, with no odd smells, and the view was great. The hotel is a good choice if you like old Venetian elegance. Its location on Lido is peaceful and makes it easy to explore the canals. The place has a vintage feel, from the antique furniture to the classic Venetian decor. Plants in every corner give it a fresh, warm atmosphere, and the traditional details feel authentic. Breakfast was fresh and tasty.

Reaching Venice’s historic center was seamless and took only about 20 minutes. We also enjoyed seaside runs, and there were a couple of nice restaurants close by. The hotel exceeded my expectations. It may be old, but it’s very well maintained, clean and comfortable, with no strange smells. There was even a Turkish sauna function in the shower, which worked well and was especially welcome on rainy April days.

The breakfast was enough for us, and everyone could put together what suited their tastes and needs. We liked the small touches for guests too, such as a sweet treat after room cleaning, a kettle set, Italian music at breakfast and the option to rent an umbrella. We’d happily come back. It’s a beautiful Venetian-style building with a real sense of place, on a quiet street in Lido. The vaporetto and beach are both a short walk away.
