Hotel Bonvecchiati

We spent one night here after flying into Venice, before heading off on a cruise. The staff were helpful and friendly, and our room was very comfortable. Breakfast was included and quite nice. The hotel arranged transport from the airport and, the next day, to the Tronchetto people mover. Everything was where it needed to be for our trip, and we really appreciated the help. The location was excellent too.

This has been my favorite hotel in Europe, especially in Venice. It’s very well placed, with restaurants and cafes just around the corner. Breakfast is included in the price, has lots of choices, and was amazing. The staff were nice too. Our room was decent, if a little small, and the bathroom was on the small side as well. I did like having a soaking tub.

The rooms are good, and the beds are comfortable. Getting to them can be a bit of an adventure, though, since the hotel combines several old buildings on different levels and facing different directions. It’s very close to St Mark's Square, so it makes a handy base for sightseeing. Breakfast is included and good.

The location was good and the staff were very friendly. The management, though, feels very old-fashioned and doesn’t seem to understand people who travel often for short stays with just a small bag. For a room costing over 300 euros a night, the basic services weren’t acceptable to me, and didn’t feel like 4 star service. There was no way to get a second room key, and the TV had just one channel, which felt like a joke. There was no kettle for making tea or instant coffee in the morning. The bed and mattress were very old, the shampoo and conditioner were poor quality, and the only hairdryer was one that looked like it came from the 1950s.
