Hotel Ca' D'Oro Cannaregio

The view was incredible, and waking up to it made our visit feel extra special. We loved the breakfast too, fresh, delicious and nicely presented. Our room was spotless, comfortable, beautifully set up for our arrival, and just right. There was some construction at the hotel, but since we stayed over the weekend it didn’t affect us. It was quiet and peaceful the whole time. There had been a small misunderstanding with the website reservation because an amount was blocked before we arrived. The staff handled it smoothly and professionally, and everything was in order by the time we got there. Check-in was seamless. We’d happily come back and recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a relaxing, quiet stay in Venice. It felt like a real hidden gem.

My wife and I had a pleasant stay here, and we’d gladly return and recommend the hotel. It was excellent value for money. The staff were friendly, professional and attentive, always ready to help. Breakfast had a wide range of fresh, high-quality choices, and our room was impeccably clean. Housekeeping kept it to a high standard throughout our visit.

A pleasant, comfortable place to rest while visiting Venice. It’s a decent 3-star hotel and everything was adequate, though the rooms were somewhat noisy. The HVAC didn’t seem to switch on, so we opened the windows to cool the room. Mosquitos attacked us during the night. Breakfast is continental, with a coffee machine and ingredients for making a sandwich with cheese and cold cuts. The in-room coffee machine was good. We got one complimentary bottle of water, with no more provided. Towels are changed every three days, and leaving one on the floor means they’ll replace it at a cost that depends on the towel size.

The location was great and so was breakfast, but our room left us with a bad feeling. We stayed for only two nights and noticed the problems rather late, so I didn’t ask to move. We were put in a room across from the main hotel building. I later understood it had probably been a staff office or room converted for guests. It was really dark, tiled rather than wood-floored like the rooms in the photos, and didn’t feel like a room originally intended for hotel guests. There wasn’t even a power outlet where the kettle had been placed. The bathroom door wouldn’t close, and water stayed on the shower floor, so we had to use towels after every shower. On the first night, I noticed the bed linen was dirty, with red spots, and there was a hair on the bath. They changed the linen, but it was a very disappointing start. I still felt we hadn’t been given a “normal” room like the other guests.
