Hotel Villa Rosa

The room was clean and well kept, and the staff were friendly and happy to offer advice. It was comfortable, but quite small. The bathroom had nowhere useful to put toiletries, so I ended up keeping everything in bags on the floor. There wasn't even a toilet roll holder. A shelf, a holder for the toilet roll, and a towel rail would have helped with those missing basics. The location was great, about a five-minute walk to bars, cafés, shops, and the canal. The train station and bus station were also within walking distance.

The breakfast was pretty skimpy, and there was no elevator, so I had to keep going back and forth with my bags. The rooms looked nice enough, but ours was small, very hot, and smelled of mold. We found bugs and mold, and the receptionist refused to help. We also heard children crying after the rude receptionist threatened to kick them out and make them sleep under a bridge. A horrible experience. Don't go there.

The room was lovely and just what we'd expected, and we enjoyed trying the breakfast at least once. It was conveniently priced. The train station is right next door, which saved us dragging our luggage through Venice. We'd recommend staying here and would definitely visit again. A hidden gem.

We found ants in the room and got bitten during the night. On the plus side, it had a nice balcony looking over the beautiful pool, which was very clean and well maintained. Town and the lake were just a three- to four-minute walk away.
