Il Mercante Di Venezia Hotel

I loved the homey breakfast, with little snacks and familiar Italian treats. The woman who showed us the breakfast was patient and really friendly. It’s a charming, peaceful spot tucked into Venice’s small alleys, and I liked it enough to plan to bring my daughter back in a few months. Just be aware there’s no lift, only stairs, so large bags could be a hassle. The bathroom fan is pretty loud 😅.

A great base for Venice, with Napoli Centrale and the waterbus station only a couple of minutes away on foot. Our room was roomy for two and had everything we needed. The staff were helpful and friendly. I’d recommend staying here.

The staff were friendly, and the hotel was clean and tidy. Breakfast is continental only, but there’s a good range of food. One thing to know: the outside photos are misleading. The courtyard looks romantic in the pictures, but I think they’re quite old.

We only needed a room for one night while waiting for friends to arrive at our AirBnB, but we absolutely loved the hotel. It’s tucked down a small path away from the crowds, with restaurants and shops nearby. The train station is close without bringing much noise. Our room was clean and comfortable. If we come back to Venice as a couple, this is where we’ll stay.
