The extra €6 linen fee wasn't listed on Hostelworld. The bigger problem was the bed bugs: I woke up itchy in the night and stayed that way all day. I couldn't see any bugs, and the bite marks, when visible, were tiny. The owner handled it badly. He checked the bed frame but not the mattress, and seemed to think fresh sheets meant there couldn't be bed bugs. He told me it wasn't his problem, offered no compensation, and kicked me out. I wouldn't be surprised if he let someone else sleep in that bed, since he didn't believe it was infested. The place itself could have been fine, but the bed bugs and the owner's rude response made this a terrible stay.

The receptionist had no manners and turned the stay into the kind of argument that can ruin a vacation. The building feels older than the Roman Empire, and this place could make even a tourist lose their temper.
